Unruptured Brain Aneurysm

Posted on February 4, 2010.
Unruptured Brain AneurysmCan CT Examine Without the Constraste Shows an Unruptured Aneurysm of Brain?

Can a CT examine head *without* the spectacle of constraste an unruptured aneurysm of brain? How is sensitive this test for that?

Thank you.

Yes it will do.

Yes, but ideally and typically an angiogram is done to diagnose brain aneurysms. A CT is rather sensitive to find more (notably bigger aneurysms) but not enough for a complete diagnosis. The source (the sources) : http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/71086...
