Glioma Brain Cancer

Posted on December 31, 2009.
Glioma Brain CancerIs there brain cancer (glioma) the survivors here?

Or do you know any? What does it take to survive this cancer type?

My cousin has glioblastoma multiforme. It is 48 years old. Immediately that we discovered it was dispatched to the Center of Neurosciene of Miami, where it had it first removed by Dr. the Wolf of Azik (the excellent neurosurgeon) and treated first with stereotactic radiosurgery and the chimio.
Il's was 14 months, it is as good as you can foresee of a person suffering from this, but his prognostic remains unknown. The thing is, most of tumors of brain return, therefore that we do are this.
Follow every indication of his neurosurgeon, his oncologue, his specialist of thrombose (the chimio did to develop it the leg thrombose) and the therapist.
We pray only every day, faith has a lot to do in to resume.
We spend the also a lot of times together with him as can ourselves, as a family.
Try to do the to eat as healthy as possible.
Walk with him when possible.
And the hope for the better one but prepares to the worse one.
What does it take? The engagement, strenght, patience, faith. ...

my grandmother survived it.. she had a 27 operations of hour on his brain to remove the tumor.. she has secondary effects that are hard to explain but she looks at empties in the eyes and just isn't it same since

Je'm a survivor. I have oligoastrocytoma. Two neurosurgeries in the past year. Je'm pricked a crisis out by the radiance of and/or of chimio that is sure to come. Je'm on one " look at and wait" now. I obtain every MRIS 3 months. What it takes for survive is a good attitude and a good care. I suggest obtaining a second opinion to the cancer institute the closest one around you (I go to Dana Farber to Boston). Ask your current oncologue for a second opinion. It/she the most probably has contacts with the better places to obtain you another opinion. Good luck!
