Brain Stem Hemorrhage

Posted on July 25, 2010.
Brain Stem HemorrhageWhich is the difference between a hemorrhage of pontine and a hemorrhage of duret?

I know that they are the two hemorrhages of intracranial that affect the stem of pons and brain, but the this is the same thing?

Thank a million for any assistance:)

A hemorrhage of pontine can be a primary or secondary hemorrhage.

A primary means of hemorrhage that there is not cause otherwise that the hypertension.

A secondary means of hemorrhage that it arrived in response to the traumatic injury or some other factor that could have caused an accumulation of pressure of intracranial.

A means of hemorrhage of duret that the this is a secondary hemorrhage, but it can arrive elsewhere besides the pons.

In of other terms, a diagnosis of hemorrhage of pontine should incite the patient to ask the cause (the hypertension, or some injury), a diagnosis of hemorrhage of duret should incite the patient to ask where it is localized.
